General Notes-Is Electronic Information a valuable commodity in this present day?

General Notes-Is Electronic Information a valuable commodity in this present day?

(This is hodgepodge of notes that I quickly put together addressing some current present day records concerns)

Information is a valuable commodity
If it is valuable it is worth recording
It is worth relaying
It is worth retaining
It is worth managing, and managing effectively

We are living in crucial times

cyber security
nuclear security
The war on terror
Political unrest
economic unrest
religious ideological differences

All of these things intensify the need for information that is reliable, credible, searchable and retrievable.

Open government
Transparent-trustworthiness
participatory-accountability
collaborative-responsive

Three primary drivers for Electronic Records Management Solution
• overwhelming volume
• Less than 20% of Gov. Agencies have eRecords solution in place
• Consequence of not implementing an eRecords solution
